Chiorean<\/strong>, full professor of Structural Engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and director of the research structure <em>Computational Modeling and Advanced Simulation in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering<\/em>, has been working with GeoStru since 2007 as a software development researcher and has contributed over time to components of two of our finite element codes: <strong>GFAS<\/strong>, a FEM system for geotechnical applications, and <strong>RSL III 2D<\/strong>, for the local seismic response of soils and structures, both developed and maintained by our in-house team. The research behind these codes is documented by publications in peer-reviewed international journals (Engineering Structures, Computers &amp; Structures, Journal of Constructional Steel Research).<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\">University of Calabria<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Our relationship with the University of Calabria goes back a long way and has developed on several fronts: PhD candidates hosted in our offices, joint projects and degree theses carried out together with the academic staff of the university, focused on applying our calculation codes to real case studies. Among the theses supervised by <strong>Prof. Eng. Maurizio Ponte<\/strong>, with Eng. Filippo Catanzariti as co-supervisor:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><em>La frana di localita &ldquo;Vermicelli&rdquo; di Rende (CS) del marzo 2010: applicazione di un metodo FEM all&rsquo;analisi di stabilita di versante<\/em> &ndash; Valentina Aceto, MSc in Environmental and Land Engineering, a.y. 2012\/2013;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><em>Studio geotecnico e geomeccanico di gallerie agli elementi finiti mediante il software GFAS<\/em> &ndash; Silvia Talarico, MSc in Environmental and Land Engineering, a.y. 2012\/2013;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\"><em>Onde sismiche di superficie in terreni orizzontalmente stratificati<\/em> &ndash; Pierluigi Rogati, MSc in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical curriculum, a.y. 2010\/2011.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\">Mediterranea University of Reggio Calabria<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">At the Faculty of Engineering of the Mediterranea University of Reggio Calabria the thesis <em>Progettazione e realizzazione di un portale di e-commerce a supporto delle attivita di vendita della societa GeoStru Software<\/em> was carried out &ndash; Antonella Seminara, degree in Telecommunications Engineering, supervisors Prof. Domenico Ursino and Eng. Filippo Catanzariti, a.y. 2005\/2006.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center\">GeoStru software in scientific literature<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Our codes are used in published, peer-reviewed studies. One example is <em>Study on the Stability of a Road Fill Embankment<\/em> (D.-V. Moldovan, A.-C. Nagy, L.-E. Muntean, M. Ciotlaus &ndash; Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, 10th International Conference Interdisciplinarity in Engineering INTER-ENG 2016, Elsevier), where the stability of a road embankment is analysed with GeoStru Slope. On two-dimensional local seismic response, the study <em>Analisi di risposta sismica locale bidimensionale. Un caso di studio: vulnerabilita sismica di un edificio rilevante posto a Sant&rsquo;Elpidio a Mare (FM)<\/em> (E. Aiello, F. Catanzariti, S. Giuliani, A. Lippelli) was published in <em>Geologia Tecnica &amp; Ambientale<\/em> no. 2\/2020, the journal of the Italian National Council of Geologists: it stems from the collaboration with the Centre of GeoTechnologies of the University of Siena. Technical volumes are also devoted to GeoStru codes, such as <em>Terre rinforzate. Conoscere, scegliere, progettare e costruire<\/em> (F. Catanzariti, M. A. Engsoft SRL has developed advanced software systems and has a primary interest in encouraging the acquisition of applied geology, geomorphology, geotechnical and seismic knowledge and structural engineering insights aimed at identifying and defining the multiple types of risk, with the regulations existing and future national and international construction projects, also with the use of existing dedicated software, to be updated or expanded, or to be designed from scratch;<br \/>&#8211; the performance of the activity covered by this deed constitutes the interest of both parties for the functions performed by them and for the respective interests pursued, with the consequence of a profitable contribution from both, also for educational purposes;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\">YOU AGREE AND UNDERTAKE AS FOLLOWS<br \/>Art. 1= Object of the Framework Agreement<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/geotecnologie.unisi.it\/\">CGT Engineering SRL<\/a> and Engsoft SRL (owner of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geostru.eu\/?lang=en\">GEOSTRU<\/a> brand) undertake to jointly conduct research having the following object: &#8220;the acquisition of knowledge of applied geology, geomorphology, geotechnics and seismic and structural insights aimed at the identification and definition of the multiple types of risk, concerning existing and future national and international regulations for construction, also with the use of existing dedicated software, to be updated or expanded, or to be designed from scratch. During the development of the research, about its evolution, updates to the planning of details of the activities may be agreed upon between the scientific managers, always within the limits of the research programme. The research program will be conducted jointly by CGT Engineering SRL and Engsoft SRL personnel to pursue the respective common objectives.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\">Art. 2= Responsible<\/h4>\n<p>Research Scientific Managers for CGT Engineering Srl &#8230;..<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\">Article 3= Products<\/h4>\n<p>At the end of the research, CGT Engineering SRL and Engsoft SRL, tacitly confirmable from year to year, will jointly develop free scientific publications&#8230;<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\">Art. 4= Ownership of the results<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The research results are jointly owned by CGT Engineering SRL and Engsoft SRL as regards scientific research purposes, which will be presented in national or international journals, conferences, seminars or the like, explicitly mentioning the agreement in which the research was carried out.
