G.F.A.S. (Geotechnical and F.E.M. analysis System) software for the mechanical analysis of soil using the finite element method.

The traditional methods of analysis based on the concept of LIMIT EQUILIBRIUM (LEM) do not allow the determination of stresses and deformations in the analyzed volumes.

These limitations have led to the need to integrate conventional analysis with analysis based on numerical models.

These methods use the numerical evaluation of the problem and do not require simplifications to the calculation.

GFAS Extension brings additional features to finite element software like water flow analysis.

Description

GFAS is a two-dimensional (2D) finite element software for non-linear analysis in geotechnical engineering. The plastic constitutive models available are full and modified Mohr-Coulomb, Von Mises, Drucker-Prager, structural elements: Beam, Pile, Anchor, Bold and Geosynthetics. With GFAS is also possible to carry out dynamic modal analysis of soils and water flow analysis.

In non-linear analysis, Construction phases, Bearing capacity and Slope stability can be examined. All analyzes can be conducted in static and dynamic conditions. The dynamic modal analysis is performed based on: design spectrum, soil type, damping etc. The groundwater can be considered at the calculation level in a steady-state flow regime with a flow net.

The software offers a database of integrated templates for the generation of:

    • Tunnels;
    • Excavations;
    • Slopes;
    • Foundations;
    • Reinforced Earth.

G.F.A.S. (Geotechnical and F.E.M. analysis System) is a complete solution that integrates all functions required for the mechanical analysis of soil using the finite element method.

MATERIALS MODEL

    • Linear and non-linear elastic model;
    • Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion.

AUTOMATIC MESH GENERATION

The program automatically generates the mesh with triangular elements and refines at points of particular interest, such as edges, load areas, kinematical constraints, etc.

BOUNDARY CONDITIONS

It is possible to assign boundary conditions on displacements or rigidity.

LOADS

Loads can easily be assigned with the mouse in any mesh node.

RESULTS

Results can be easily displayed numerically or graphically with stress and deformation indications.
