Description
Macro for AutoCAD that creates topographic sections and terrain profiles from a contour-line plan (polylines with elevation or 3D polylines). To create a section just pick two points on the plan: the macro computes the intersections with the contour lines, sorts the points and draws the profile with the title block (code, chainage, partial distances, elevations) at the chosen scales. In the Settings menu you set the height and distance scales, the text height and the height of the title-block rows.
Sections are exported in .edp format for import into the GeoStru programs: Slope, Georock 2D and 3D, etc.
With the same macro, selecting a closed polyline, you generate the boundary of a drainage basin with the spot heights inside it, to be imported into Hydrologic Risk for hydrological and hydraulic analysis.
Requirements: full AutoCAD (not LT) from release 2010 to the current ones, 32 or 64 bit, any language, and Civil 3D; the AutoCAD VBA module is required (VBA Enabler, free download from Autodesk for your release). Not compatible with progeCAD, BricsCAD, ZWCAD or other alternative CAD programs.
Installation: load the acad.dvb project with VBALOAD (or Manage › Applications › Load Application), then Alt+F8 (Manage › Run VBA Macro) › Gestione_menu.aggiungi_menu to create the Geostru menu. From build 2026.1, copying acad.dvb into the Support folder of the AutoCAD profile makes the menu appear automatically at start-up.
